Interrogating the mermaid 

A feminine and enigmatic figure which symbolism varies according to cultures, the mermaid is, in Japan, an omen of longevity. Since 1998, Shimabuku has been working on I’m travelling with 165-metre mermaid. The visit will center on the artefacts that compose the artwork, from the myth itself to The Mermaid Museum via Tallest Woman of Monaco.

Women in comics art

Since the 1960’s, the world of comic books authors is progressively populated by women authors and feminine characters diversify. From nonconformist Betty Boop to the exploration of a femininity in the making in Jeffrey Catherine Jones’ work, the visit will take you on a journey through different portraits of women.
